The Barcelona Supercomputing Center - Centro Nacional de Supercomputación (BSC-CNS) is the leading supercomputing center in Spain.

It houses MareNostrum, one of the most powerful supercomputers in Europe, and is a founding member of the former European HPC infrastructure PRACE.

It now hosts EuroHPC JU, leading large-scale investments and HPC provision in Europe.

The mission of BSC is to research, develop, and manage information technologies to facilitate scientific progress.

BSC combines HPC service provision and R&D in computer and computational sciences, including life, earth, and engineering sciences.

The center employs over 1000 staff from 60 countries.

Context And Mission

The student intern will work on processing and modeling heterogeneous fused datasets.

Key Duties

Perform basic data modeling based on data source structures.

Perform data cleaning and exploration.

Collaborate with software and data engineers.

Implement models using Python notebooks.

Write reports on findings and models created.

Requirements

Education:

Enrolled in an official Master's degree program, such as Data Science or similar.

Essential Knowledge And Experience

Python, Data Science and Analytics, Economics or social models, Data gathering via API or scraping.

Competences

Basic knowledge of Machine Learning techniques.

Conditions

The position is located at BSC within the CASE Department.

We offer a full-time contract (37.5h/week), a stimulating environment with state-of-the-art infrastructure, flexible hours, extensive training, restaurant tickets, private health insurance, and relocation support.

Duration: Open-ended; starting date: 16 February 2025.

Holidays: 23 paid vacation days plus additional days during Christmas.
