The Support Unit for Clinical Research (USIC) provides healthcare support to the development of clinical research within Vall d’Hebron, and offers medical offices to the users, nursing activities support and a sample processing laboratory.
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- Certificate of Higher Education (FPII/CFGS)
- English level B2
- Knowledge of the specific legislation for clinical trials and clinical research
- Fluency in Catalan, Spanish
Required:
- Health sector experience
- Organized and methodical person with high motivation and initiative
- Good communication skills
- Minimum of one-year previous experience as a lab technician processing biological samples or experience in Biobanks
- Manage the processing of the human biological samples and its shipment following standard operating procedures
- Data registry at the USIC database and sponsor registry, if apply
- Sample processing
- Sample storage
- Sample shipping to external labs
- Understand the laboratory manuals of the clinical research protocols or clinical trials in which the USIC is involved
- Apply Good Clinical Practice (GCPs) and IATA standards, as well as relevant Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Maintenance and verification of the laboratory equipment (freezers, centrifuges,..)
- Collaborate with ensuring that activities are carried out in accordance with the requirements established in the Unit's quality system procedures, promote and implement continuous improvement in its scope of action.
- Support all those tasks of the area that are entrusted to him/her by the manager.
- Carry out the designated activities in accordance with the established procedures and, where appropriate, participate in their updating
- Full-time: 40h/week.
- Starting date: June 2025
- Gross annual salary: Remuneration will depend on experience and skills. Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale.
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities.
