What We´re Looking For
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Systems Administrator Engineer with deep expertise in Jira and Jira Service Management. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the administration, maintenance, and optimization of our Jira environment, ensuring seamless operations and providing top-tier support to our users.
Key Responsibilities:
- Jira & Jira Service Management Administration:
- Designing a standard data model that is maintainable and scalable and works for both Jira and Jira Service Management, including asset management
- Establish a governance structure and its processes for Jira and Jira Service Desk
- Creating standard workflow designs and automations for teams to reuse
- Automating IT´s service desk processes
- Managing users, including onboarding, permissions, and access control
- Manage Jira Plugins to ensure they comply with our security practices, creating custom plugins when needed
- Jira Service Management Design:
- Queue and SLA design and administration
- Automation and scripting for service desk processes
- Knowledge base management
- Customer portal customization
- System Performance and Optimization:
- Monitoring and troubleshooting Jira performance issues
- Implementing best practices for system optimization
- Capacity planning and resource allocation
- User Support and Training:
- Serve as one of the subject matter experts as well as develop, test and deploy upgrades for Jira, Jira service management, and Confluence
- Creating and delivering training materials and documentation
- Assisting with user adoption and change management
- Collaboration and Communication:
- Working closely with cross-functional teams, including development, operations, and project management
- Clearly communicating technical concepts and solutions to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
Required skills:
- 3+ years of experience in systems administration or a related field
- Deep expertise in Confluence, Jira and Jira Service Management administration
- Strong understanding of ITIL best practices and process design principles
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Jira certifications (preferred)
- Bachelor´s degree in Computer Science or a related field (preferred)
- Knowledge in scripting languages (e.g., Groovy, Python) (preferred)
Will be a Plus:
- Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools
- Familiarity with cloud-based Jira deployments (Atlassian Cloud)
- Experience with Agile methodologies
