ABOUT THE COMPANY
Our client is the Spanish subsidiary of an Italian multinational group operating in the industrial sector, with a well-established presence in the Spanish market and a B2B and B2B2C business model.
The company is currently undergoing a phase of growth, transformation and professionalisation, with the objective of strengthening its internal capabilities, improving the quality of financial information, and supporting a new stage of commercial and operational expansion in Spain.
In this context, we are looking to appoint a Chief Financial Officer / Finance Director to lead the evolution of the finance function towards a more robust, efficient, scalable and business-oriented model.
ROLE MISION
The main mission of the role will be to lead the comprehensive transformation of the finance function in Spain, ensuring a solid, reliable and traceable management model that supports the company’s growth and enhances decision-making by the General Management team and the wider group.
The successful candidate will be expected to professionalise processes, strengthen internal control, improve the quality of financial and management reporting, optimise the use of systems, and contribute to building a more efficient, structured and future-ready finance organisation.
MAIN RESPOSIBILITIES
Financial Leadership and Management Control
- Define and execute the financial strategy of the company in Spain, aligned with growth, profitability and professionalisation objectives.
- Ensure the reliability of financial, analytical and management accounting.
- Oversee monthly, quarterly and annual closing processes.
- Implement a solid management control model focused on profitability, margins, cost structure, working capital and cash flow.
- Develop dashboards and key performance indicators for General Management and the group.
- Supervise treasury, cash forecasts, financing, working capital needs and relationships with financial institutions.
Process and Systems Transformation
- Diagnose current finance processes and lead their end-to-end redesign.
- Reduce dependency on manual tasks, parallel Excel files and poorly traceable workflows.
- Drive standardisation, automation and continuous improvement of finance processes.
- Optimise the use of the ERP and associated financial reporting tools.
- Improve the quality, discipline and traceability of financial data.
- Lead improvements across areas such as accounting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, treasury, budgeting and reporting.
Corporate Governance and Stakeholder Management
- Prepare high-quality financial reporting for General Management, the group and other internal stakeholders.
- Coordinate audits, tax matters, financial compliance and relationships with external advisors.
- Act as a financial business partner to the General Management team and the executive committee.
- Participate in strategic, operational and investment decisions.
- Maintain fluent communication with international stakeholders, requiring a high level of English.
CANDIDATE PROFILE (HE / SHE)
- University degree in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting or similar.
- MBA, CIMA or postgraduate training in corporate finance would be highly valued.
- Previous experience as CFO, Finance Director, Head of Finance or in an equivalent senior finance role.
- Background in industrial companies, distribution, import, trading, supply chain, specialised retail, B2B/B2B2C businesses or operationally complex environments.
- Proven experience leading finance transformation projects, particularly in companies that have evolved from manual or under-structured models to more professionalised environments.
- Strong knowledge of accounting, management control, cash management, reporting, tax and internal control.
- Experience in process improvement, automation, standardisation and systems optimisation.
- Practical ERP experience; knowledge of MS BC, SAP or JD Edwards will be especially valued.
- High level of English, required for interaction with international stakeholders.

- Attractive package: fixed, plus variable compensation.
- Occasional travel availability required.
