Summary
As an Associate Director of Events at Grand Hyatt Barcelona, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional experiences for our group and event clients. This position combines strategic leadership with operational excellence, ensuring that every event—from intimate gatherings to large-scale conferences—reflects our brand promise of personalized luxury hospitality. You will lead a dynamic team, collaborate across departments, and drive revenue growth through innovative event solutions and strong client partnerships.
Tasks
- Lead and mentor the Events team, fostering a culture of collaboration and accountability.
- Oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of weddings, social events, corporate meetings, and large-scale conferences.
- Act as the primary liaison for high-profile events, ensuring seamless communication between clients and internal teams.
- Manage all event logistics including room setups, catering, audiovisual, and guest experience details.
- Conduct site inspections, pre-conference meetings, and post-event evaluations to ensure client satisfaction.
- Develop creative upselling strategies and customized event packages to maximize revenue.
- Monitor event profitability, manage budgets, and ensure accurate billing and timely payments.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and community partners.
- Represent Grand Hyatt Barcelona at industry events, networking forums, and client presentations.
- Implement best practices and process improvements to enhance efficiency and guest satisfaction.
- Ensure compliance with brand standards and operational procedures.
Qualifications
- Proficiency in English & Spanish (spoken and written); additional languages are a plus
- Previous experience in event management or luxury hospitality sales.
- Educational background in Tourism or related field
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills with a focus on detail and service quality
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills with a customer-centric approach
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and manage multiple priorities effectively
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office; additional training in event management is valued
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities effectively.
