About the role
This role is centered on ground truth in interface design. The logistics provider mentioned above is struggling with dashboard clutter and broken data entry forms that slow down their warehouse operations. Instead of building abstract marketing sites, you will be fixing the specific buttons, tables, and validation rules that cause delays in their shipping schedules. This is a fully remote role where your work will directly reduce the backlog of operational errors. We do not deal in broad strategy: we sit with the technical reality of how the work moves and make sure the interface supports the operator.
What you will be doing
- Audit existing internal dashboards to identify where text is overlapping or data is hard to read.
- Translate basic wireframes into functional HTML and CSS components within the logistics platform.
- Fix broken input validation rules that prevent operators from successfully finishing their updates.
- Walk through user flows to document exactly where a specific UI bug is causing a system timeout.
- Update internal documentation so the client team knows how to maintain the UI components after our engagement ends.
- Work with technical leads to suggest small, concrete layout changes that speed up high-volume data entry.
- Check the browser console logs to identify front-end errors that interfere with API calls.
- Verify that new interface updates render correctly across the tablet devices used by workers on the warehouse floor.
- Foundational knowledge of HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
- Ability to read a technical document and follow a set of established coding standards.
- Attention to detail: noticing when a button is inconsistent or a label is confusing for the user.
- Willingness to learn how a real-world logistics system functions at the ground level.
- Clear written communication for explaining how a bug was fixed in a pull request or ticket.
- An organized approach to managing your own task list in a remote setting.
- Patience for untangling messy code that has been updated by multiple teams over many years.
- Experience with a modern front-end library like React or Vue through school projects or personal work.
- Basic understanding of how a web browser communicates with an API to fetch or send data.
- Previous experience in an operational or retail role where you had to use complicated software to get your job done.
- A permanent, full-time position that is fully remote.
- Attractive and competitive payment that reflects the current market and your entry-level status.
- Direct mentorship from engineers who have solved complex problems for large operations teams.
- Exposure to real-world logistics data and high-volume business systems.
- A culture that values deep work and technical accuracy over internal politics.
- Standard professional benefits including paid time off and support for your home work setup.
We do not spend our days in endless video calls or discussing abstract frameworks. Instead, we prefer to work asynchronously, using documentation and written updates to stay aligned. Our goal is to leave every client system in a better state than we found it, ensuring the team on the ground has a clear path to the source of truth. We prioritize technical clarity and direct communication, giving you the space to focus on the code and the logs without unnecessary distractions. Because our work is remote, we rely on each team member to be disciplined about their time and precise in their documentation.
