As a member of our dynamic team, you'll play a crucial role in evolving our recommendation engine and multi-channel engagement platform. Key job responsibilities

• You are an autonomous contributor who makes architectural decisions balancing technical excellence with business impact
• You work with your team to design and build stable, performant software systems
• You create flexible solutions while making appropriate trade-offs, favoring code reuse and careful dependency management
• You resolve complex technical problems at their root cause, improving system maintainability
• You lead the planning and execution of critical projects that impact millions of readers
• You collaborate with stakeholders to disambiguate business requirements
• You help evolve the team through active participation in design discussions, planning sessions, and metric reviews
• You write high-quality, maintainable code while advocating for engineering best practices
• You help your team evolve by actively participating in the code review process, design discussions, team planning, and ticket/metric/COE reviews.
• You mentor other developers on technical best practices and system architecture
• You train new team members on system operations, security, and architectural context
• You conduct interviews to help build a strong engineering team
  
  

Basic Qualifications

• Experience (non-internship) in professional software development
• Experience designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems
• Experience programming with at least one modern language such as Java, C++, or C# including object-oriented design
  
  

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
• Experience with full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations
