Within Sanofi, the Procurement function is a powerhouse, maximizing savings to fund the company’s future growth. The Chief Procurement Officer reports to the Chief Financial Officer, member of the Sanofi executive committee. The Procurement organization is divided into five Domains (Manufacturing & Supply, Marketing & Sales, Professional Services, Scientific & Medical and Digital), leveraging Global Procurement Operations and the Procurement Center of Excellence & Transformation. The yearly spend coverage is around 15B€ with a special focus on Procurement excellence, Supplier Diversity and Sustainability. Closely collaborating with Finance, Business Operations and Business Units, Procurement is instrumental in achieving cost efficiency and savings. Procurement plays a critical role in optimizing Business Operational Impact with a focus on driving simplification, efficiency, and productivity. It forges strategic partnerships with suppliers, prioritizing innovation and data driven solutions.

Main Responsibilities

• Implement competitive Procurement strategies using market intelligence and risk assessment
• Drive innovation through new suppliers, technologies, and products
• Coordinate savings initiatives across sites, promoting best practices and resolving obstacles
• Align with M&S Indirect Head in Professional Services Domain
• Deliver quantitative and qualitative objectives for assigned sites
• Provide input for financial planning cycles, ensuring consistency between GBU pipeline and global category team
• Communicate procurement financial assumptions to site Financial Controllers
• Leverage data science tools to report progress and extract insights
• Act as Procurement Business Partner, fostering collaboration across departments and supplier networks
  
  

About You

• Experience: Seasoned experience in procurement, finance, supply chain, or manufacturing excellence with passion for process improvement and willingness to challenge
• Proven track record in change management and transformation initiatives
• Experience in highly regulated environments with complex constraints and high single sourcing
• Strong procurement skills including negotiation, supplier relationship management, and contracting
• Soft and technical skills: Data-driven mindset with digital skills in tools like Power BI and working knowledge of ERP systems
• Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities; able to listen, handle objections, and voice opinions
• Agile and proactive professional who can drive change, challenge status quo, and work effectively in global matrix environments
• Education: Verbal and written fluency in English, additional languages will be beneficial
