What does a great Global Customer Excellence Business Intelligence Analyst do?

The teams’ mission is to build, distribute and support compelling, interactive dashboards and reports as well as providing insight and analysis to GCE leadership and all team members.

Based in our Bucharest office, this role operates across the department and will primarily focus on developing new reporting and dashboards in Power BI. You’ll be involved in the full BI development lifecycle from gathering requirements from stakeholders, designing the visualizations, sourcing the data & building data models through to the visualization layer and the release of the report.

This is not a pure technical BI role, the GCE BI team are very close to the business, and we want you to help to define our strategies that allow us to accelerate and innovate our approach towards providing self-serve reporting functionality, insight, and analysis to the GCE team. It is an excellent opportunity to join a dynamic and fast-paced department and company.

Responsibilities:

Delivery of high quality, meaningful Power BI reports – Our stakeholders want to be more data driven. Through your reports and dashboards, we’ll help them become that.

BI Requirement gathering – We are constantly talking to stakeholders about their reporting needs and translating those requirements into design documents that we then develop our reporting/dashboards from. You’ll need to be comfortable at running sessions with stakeholders to drill down into their exact needs, so we deliver meaningful, useful reporting.

Improvement strategies – We will expect you to be bold in contributing ideas right from the start. We are constantly looking for ways to improve our BI & Analysis offering and we will be looking for regular suggestions to make us more efficient and better enabled to deliver on our goals. Keep us current on the latest technologies that will enable us to deliver better and quicker.

Delivery ownership. We are a small but powerful team. You’ll sometimes be working on some enterprise level projects as part of a wider team, but at other times you’ll own the end to end delivery of a new smaller reporting solution. From requirements gathering through to publishing to the business.

Ad-Hoc reporting and Analysis – The whole team helps the business get the information they need when they need it. You will contribute significantly to this effort.

Data quality – Identify opportunities to deliver improved data quality or assist wider teams in doing so.

Data acquisition - Work with our Datawarehouse & ETL teams to acquire the data and set up data sources for reporting purposes.

What we look for/who would prosper in this role?

Why visualize? - You must understand the value proposition of visualizing data and be passionate about the benefits good Business Intelligence can bring to an organization.

Previous experience as a Business Intelligence Analyst role and a desire to further develop your career in this area.

You’ll have great Microsoft Power BI skills and be comfortable developing reports from scratch in it.

We still work with Excel at times. You’ll need strong skills in this area.

You will be a strong communicator, team player and problem solver and be looking to broaden your horizons by working in a growing BI team in a dynamic department.

You will be a self-starter who is happy meeting new people and working outside of your comfort zone. Fast-paced does not mean impossible but we do expect things to happen quickly and for people to deliver on their commitments.

You won’t mind stepping into the detail or helping at an overview level to help the team move forward.

Fluent English is required for this role. The business language is English, and you will be engaging with people from all around the world on a daily basis.

Nice to haves:

Experience with other BI Visualization tools (Cognos, Qlik, Tableau)
