We are a modern and growing company in the city centre of Barcelona and are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join our team as Tax Accountant. The successful candidate will nurture our international clients and ensure tax and administrative compliance for their activities in Spain. The role requires direct customer interaction, autonomy, and a commitment to deliver exceptional service.

Position Overview:

Our account managers are responsible for their own group of assigned clients and take care of the relationship with the client, their bookkeeping, tax declarations and other fiscal obligations. The potential career path in accounting goes from junior account manager to senior account manager and director of the accounting department.

As most of our clients are international, a good level of languages is important. As a minimum, we expect our candidates to have a convincing dominion of Spanish and English in both oral and written expression. Further knowledge of languages and exposure to cultural diversity is a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Keep the bookkeeping of the assigned clients up to date and flawless by processing incoming documents and other information and consolidating the accounts.
• Accurately and timely prepare and submit tax declarations, meeting the requirements and deadlines set by tax authorities and other relevant institutions.
• Maintain direct communication with clients, ensuring their satisfaction and addressing any concerns or inquiries.
• Stay updated on changes in tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance.
• Collaborate effectively with the extended team and contribute to a friendly and transparent work environment.

Requirements:

• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Proven experience as an accountant within a Spanish accounting office, financial department or similar environment.
• Ability to interpret and analyse financial statements and periodicals
• Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Thorough understanding of Spanish tax laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and spoken.
• Experience with Spanish SaaS accounting systems is highly desirable.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Motivation, responsibility and a positive attitude.
