The Role

As a Senior Cobol Developer, you will play a crucial role in the development and maintenance of our Cobol applications. You will collaborate with a team of engineers and developers across various layers of our infrastructure. A strong commitment to collaborative problem-solving, sophisticated design, and the delivery of high-quality products is essential to our success.

What You’ll Do

• Develop and maintain scalable global Cobol applications to support our product offerings.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, implement, and enhance features.
• Participate in code reviews and contribute to best practices for software development.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues in existing applications to ensure optimal performance.
• Engage in continuous learning and stay updated on industry trends and technologies.
  
  

What You’ll Bring

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent experience.

• 6 years + of professional proven proficiency in COBOL programming (COBOL-85), with the ability to write, modify, and maintain both batch and online COBOL programs.
• Experience in Support production systems by troubleshooting, debugging, and resolvingissues in COBOL programs using debugging tools (e.g., Xpediter, Abend-AID)
• Nice to have: Experience in MicroFocus net Express 3, Microsoft Visual Basic, C language
• Prior work experience in and understanding of Agile.
• Strong knowledge on CI/CD tools and workflows.
• Domain-Driven Design and Micro-service architectures.
• SQL Server, NoSQL, ang/or Oracle Databases.
• API design
• Strong knowledge in Business-Driven Design and Test Driven Development.
• Developing middleware applications using a variety of modern technologies with relational, non-relational data bases and cloud hosted applications.
• Performance engineering and educating teams on non-functional requirements to achieve web-scale
• Middleware and Security experience, fixing vulnerabilities.
• Strong background in the PaaS space preferred.
