As part of our global procurement organization, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Category Manager for Consumables/CAPEX (Industrial) to join our team with a global mandate. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, sourcing, and vendor management within the defined sub-categories, driving strategic pooling and sourcing activities to support our Industrial Procurement (IP) strategy.
Responsibilities
As part of our global procurement organization, we are seeking an experienced and strategic Category Manager for Consumables/CAPEX (Industrial) to join our team with a global mandate. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing, sourcing, and vendor management within the defined sub-categories, driving strategic pooling and sourcing activities to support our Industrial Procurement (IP) strategy.
Responsibilities
- Management Processes: Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies as part of the overarching IP strategy, ensuring robust representation and effective relationship building between procurement and external/internal business partners.
- Plan-to-Strategy Activities: Formulate and align category strategies with global and hybrid categories, conducting detailed spend analysis and maintaining a dynamic supplier portfolio. Regularly monitor market trends and technological innovations to integrate relevant insights into strategy development, while leading cross-functional working groups and facilitating category councils.
- Source-to-Contract Execution: Design and execute a strategic sourcing approach for global categories, overseeing the sourcing execution, evaluation, and negotiation process. Manage contract lifecycle from awarding through to implementation, while achieving bundling effects and synergies in assigned categories.
- Supplier Management: Develop category-specific supplier strategies focusing on performance KPIs, driving continuous supplier evaluation and development. Manage disqualification processes for suppliers, maintaining high standards and ensuring optimal performance across global and regional dimensions.
- Master's or Bachelor´s degree or equivalent work experience with a minimum of 5 years in procurement
- Skilled in end-to-end processes, including strategic planning and execution
- Capable of assessing market trends and navigating legal environments
- Ability to effectively communicate strategies, fostering compliance
- Efficient in handling multiple priorities under pressure
- Effective in diverse, global business environments
- Strong collaborator, inspiring cross-functional teams
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Proficient in MS Office and SAP Ariba; basic SAP ERP knowledge is optional
