TLM&M_TG) role at IBEC's Core Facilities Introduction to the Position The Institut de Bioenginyeria de Catalunya (IBEC) is seeking to hire a Laboratory Technician for the MicroFab & Microscopy Facilities, part of the Core Facilities unit.

The role involves providing daily services and support to users in the cleanroom environment where microdispositives and structures are fabricated and characterized, including SEM and confocal microscopy support.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities Fabricate microdispositives and structures using optical lithography, laser techniques, 3D printing, thin film deposition, etc.Characterize microdispositives and structures via optical microscopy, mechanical and optical profilometry, and contact angle measurements.Perform sample characterization using SEM and confocal microscopy.Inform and train new users on equipment operation within the facilities.Ensure proper use of facilities and assist users with techniques.Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on scientific equipment following established guidelines.Verify and update existing fabrication protocols and participate in developing new procedures.Handle administrative tasks related to the service.Requirements Bachelor's degree in Life Sciences, preferably Physics.Proven experience in microfabrication and microdevice characterization in a cleanroom environment.Experience with SEM and confocal microscopy (ImageJ).Experience with 3D printing, CAD, and CleWin software.Experience with two-photon polymerization for complex microstructure fabrication.Knowledge of safety standards in biology/chemistry laboratories.Intermediate/high level of English.Fluency in Catalan and Spanish, both spoken and written.Strong communication, proactive attitude, organization, teamwork, and customer orientation.Advanced user of Outlook and Microsoft Office 365.What is offered Number of positions: 1Start date: December 2024Employment conditions: Indefinite contract, full-time (according to the law and IBEC policies).Salary level based on qualifications and experience.Work-life balance measures: parental leave, flexible hours, telework, paid holidays, personal days, etc.Equal opportunity commitment and support for diversity and inclusion.Stimulating research environment with international scientific standards.Support programs for international recruitment and relocation, including visa assistance.How to apply?
